My "not so cheap" trip to Publix

Well it has been a really rainy day here in central Florida, but I got a break in the rain long enough to run to Publix.  I thought I was doing good until I found out they didnt have any of the gum I had planned on getting for free to use in my daughters Easter basket, and then I get to the register to find out my Keebler coupon was expired, my Kelloggs coupons for free milk didnt match the cereal I was purchasing and for some reason i had a "brain fart" when doing the math while making this hasty grocery list.  All completely my fault, I ALWAYS check my expiration dates and fine print, but I was in such a rush trying to beat the next line of storms that I just threw them in my coupon pouch and ran out the door.  Needless to say, my totals were higher than I wanted them to be.  I forgot to take a picture because it decided to start raining, no, POURING, right as I was pulling into the driveway, so I just wanted to get in the house with all my bags and get it all put away so I could dry off.

Yes, I bought 20 bags of dog food! LOL They are only 4lb bags and I have an 80lb dog that will go thru them in no time.  I went to 2 different stores to get them all so i wouldnt clear any shelves.  I got lucky at my first store and I am friends with the cahsier so it went smoothly. The second trip went good but the cashier informed me and the couponer in front of me that Sunday morning they are having a cashiers meeting and that it is about the "new coupon policy".  She didnt know what it was going to be but she thinks they will post about the changes when they go into effect.  Im really curious what the changes will be. For those of you who dont already know, you can go to P&G Everyday Solutions and register to receive coupons and samples.  I have received so many samples in the mail from P&G and today I got a little coupon booklet in the mail with coupons.  It included the following coupons:

I decided to go to Walmart and do some price checking and also to see if they had the infamous Purex 3N1 Travel size 2ct that they have been out of since the $1 coupon came out.  THEY DID!! I was so happy, if there wouldn't have been other people on the aisle with me, I would have done the Happy Dance. Anyhow, I picked up 9 of them (no, i did NOT clear the shelf, they had a ton of them).

Some people have asked me why I would waste coupons on Travel size items. Simple- its FREE.  This isnt normally a detergent I would purchase, but since it is FREE, why not.  It is 18 loads of laundry worth of detergent for FREE!  I LOVE THAT WORD!!!  hehe
